Big State
Big Opportunity for Change
Texas is the second-largest state in our country with over 5.5 million students. Today, just 21% of Texas students living in low-income communities obtain a postsecondary degree, compared to 67% of students from our nation’s most affluent communities. This is not for lack of ambition or talent, but for lack of opportunity and support.

Transformative Results
In Houston, 78% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 79% of those persist in their education at the end of the OneGoal program (one year after high school graduation). In order to deliver results for students across the state, we continue to strengthen our organizational culture, attract and empower diverse, talented staff to lead and learn, invest in innovation, and continue to strengthen our financial health.
